The Magical Mystery Tour--First Stop
It's 9:10 a.m., and I've just finished my first book for The 48 Hour Book Challenge. I'm off to a marvelous start with a marvelous book called Skellig by David Almond.
The book jumps right into the story. Michael has found a...man...in his garage.
His family bought a new fixer-upper while his mother is pregnant. The baby is born and isn't well. So while his parents are consumed with worry over his very young sister, they also have to contend with moving into a new place.
And Michael has to contend with what he's found in the garage.
This is a very well-written book. It includes one of those smart girl characters who are always spouting all they know who usually give me such a pain. But even she is very tolerable. Which just goes to show the power of good writing.

First visit to your site, and I'm enjoying it very much. I loved Skellig, and all of David Almond's books. It's fun to introduce his books to teens and get their reactions. I'm participating in the 48 Hour Book Challenge too, but am just doing picture books with my two young girls (www.mamasutra.typepad.com).
I'm envisioning forcing my kids to read picture book after picture book with me for 48 hours. Of course, they probably would tell you that that pretty much describes their hellish childhoods.
Actually, after 15 hours of reading the kinds of stuff I've been reading today, I'm thinking that what I just wrote is probably a book idea.
Not that I was suggesting that you were forcing your kids to read with you. I'm the one who did that. Ah, those were the days.
This game is very interesting and as long as you know the Scions Of Fate gold you will love it and you will go to play this game every day.
