Forget About Roald Dahl's Children's Books

I've never been a big fan of Roald Dahl's children's books. They seem contrived. But, boy, do I like his short stories for adults.

I stumbled upon a book of his short stories sometime while I was still in my twenties. In fact, he might be an influence on my own adult (unpublished) short fiction. I didn't try his kids' books until later. Maybe that's why I've never cared for them. I was expecting more.

Dahl's short stories (fifty-one of them) are being published in one volume.
Leila at bookshelves of doom also appears to be a fan of Dahl's shorter work for older readers and provided today's link.
